Tropicana Student Housing offers private residence halls and apartments for students attending University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB), Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) and international language schools. Tropicana communities provide flexible rooming options, meal plans and professional staff to help ease the transition from home to independent living. In addition to creating an environment conducive to academic success, Tropicana hosts social, educational, and recreational events, helping to foster relationships and bolster an enriching overall college living experience.

Our management team, who lives on site, maintains closes ties with UCSB and SBCC campus officials to ensure that our student residence life philosophies and policies are consistent with on-campus missions and policies.

Tropicana Student Housing is a UCSB off-campus housing affiliate and is proud to be the Official Student Housing sponsor of UCSB Athletics. We are host to more than 70 summer camps annually and has been the proud summer home of Michael Jordan’s Flight School since 1995. Tropicana Del Norte

Tropicana Del Norte

Tropicana Del Norte is a  private residence hall directly adjacent to the UCSB campus, close to lecture halls and athletic venues.  Home to a small, diverse community of UCSB students,  its convenient location, 51 suite-style units and resort-style amenities (such as heated pool, fitness room, movie theater, recreation room, tanning booth, on-site café and unlimited meal plan ), makes it  a favorite among incoming UCSB freshman.

Tropicana Gardens

Tropicana Gardens poolTropicana Gardens is a private residence hall that caters to Santa Barbara City College students. With 109 furnished suites, onsite dining, light housekeeping, and on-site Resident Assistants, Tropicana Gardens offers a four-year college residence hall experience for SBCC students, who would otherwise have to commute or live in apartments.  Tropicana Gardens provides an environment that supports academic success and facilitates a strong sense of community. The lush garden-like setting, convenience (door-to-door transportation to SBCC via MTD) and amenities (such as heated pool, recreation room, 24-hour study lounge, and covered/uncovered parking) make Tropicana Gardens extremely popular with SBCC students.

Villas at Tropicana

Villas at TropicanaThe Villas at Tropicana, situated three blocks from UCSB and five blocks from the beach, caters specifically to continuing UCSB and SBCC students and provides independent apartment living while offering perks such as by-the-bed leasing (which alleviates individuals from being responsible for other tenants), 10 & 12 month leases and discounted rates at the Trop cafés. In addition to by-the-bed leasing, the property offers joint leases. The Villas are fully furnished and the recently-renovated property also offers amenities such as a heated pool, an on-site laundry and parking for sale.
