Café Trop
The hub of our community, Café Trop offers all you can eat, all day dining. You don’t have to count your meals, and we’ll help you count your calories! Add @tropcafe on twitter and we’ll send you daily menu updates.
Heated Swimming Pool
Meet your friends for a dip in the pool! The heated and gated swimming pool is located in the courtyard area and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Fitness Center
Burn off the stress of school in the fitness center! The fitness center is equipped with treadmills, ellipticals, free weights, and weight machines and is open from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Study Lounge/ Computer Lab
Find some peace and quiet in our study lounge. The Study Lounge and Computer Lab is open 24 hours a day and is equipped with four computers and a printer for your use. Bring your friends for a study session, or relax in our comfy lounge chairs.
Recreation Room
Relax with friends in the Recreation Room with a game of ping-pong, air hockey, or pool. Challenge them to a Wii or Xbox game on one of the large-screen plasma TVs. Our Resident Assistants will also use the Rec Room to offer exciting social and educational activities such as faculty speakers from UCSB, pool and ping-pong tournaments, and arts and crafts.
Movie Theater
Our state of the art movie theater features stadium seating for 27, 120" Hi-Def projection screen with Blu-Ray player and Dolby Surround Sound 5.1. With the black-out shades, movie time is any time! RAs will often host movie nights or popular TV episode viewing parties, complete with popcorn and snacks.
Tanning Booth
If the Santa Barbara sun is not enough, soak up the rays in our tanning booth! Make use of our upright tanning booth once daily to get a base tan, or keep that tan on foggy days. Upright tanning booths allow you to get a more even tan faster than a traditional tanning bed.
Hydro Massage Table
Massage your stress away on our Hydro Massage Table which is a water filled, body-length tank covered by a vinyl barrier. As you float upon the table, fully clothed, pressurized water is pumped to the jets, producing a vigorous rotating hydro-massage that you can control with the remote.
Laundry Facility
Adjacent to the study lounge, the Laundry Facility has seven washers and seven dryers. Your laundry card may be loaded with your credit or debit card, or cash. Our washers and dryers will e-mail you a message when your laundry is done!
On-Site Parking
Most UCSB students ride their bikes to class, and Tropicana Del Norte has tons of bike parking. If you choose to bring your car, we have vehicle parking above ground and underground available for sale. Please visit our pricing page for more information.
