Student Life

At Tropicana Del Norte, you can get involved in many ways. It’s easy to meet people.

Events run the gamut from A to Z: Art Museum visit, BBQs, Bowling, Dance Lessons, Disneyland Trips, Halloween Costume Contest, Henna Tattoos, Hiking, Holiday Cookie Decorating, Hypnotist Show, Jewelry Making, Kayaking, Movie Nights, Ping-Pong Tournaments, Pool Parties, Pro Football Kickoff Night Pumpkin Carving, Open Mic Night, Paint a Canvas, Pie Eating Contest, Polar Bear Plunge, Super Bowl Party, Surfing Lessons, UCSB Soccer Night, Ultimate Frisbee, Zoo trips and more!

As a resident, you’re automatically a member of the Tropicana Student Organization (TSO), which organizes the 300+ community activities, quad gatherings, and individual floor meetings annually. Be as involved as you want to be. All residents are invited to participate in TSO and run for positions such as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and quad representatives at the beginning of the year.

In addition to the planned activities, there are countless fun things to do in Isla Vista on your own. With the beaches only about a ten minute walk away you can try surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, or just lay on the warm sand for some peace and quiet.
