TDN Poppin'

Let's Get Poppin'

Evelin hosted this tasty program for her residents. They all had a great time decorating cake pops and hanging out. See more pictures on Facebook.

Paddle for Life

Alex took residents down to the SB Harbor to go paddle boarding in the sun. The event registration fee was donated to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

The Great Gatsby

Melissa and Evelin took residents to the movies to see The Great Gatsby. Everyone had a wonderful time getting away from their homework and watching a fabulous take on the timeless classic.

Celebrate the TrOscars

Many dressed to impress for a night at the TrOscars last Thursday. This was a fantastic event that celebrated the end of the year with a fancy dinner, delicious desserts, resident superlative awards, and a video of your fabulous memories from your year at Trop. Everyone dreams of walking the red carpet at least once in their life, and this was YOUR night!

Springtime Tea Party

Evelin and Melissa did an amazing job transforming the Del Norte Rec Room into a proper English sitting room for a springtime tea party, doilies and all. Residents enjoyed finger sandwiches, fruit, cupcakes and jolly good conversation.

Glow Stick It To Cancer

Relay for Life was a life changing event for all. Residents and staff members came together on Team Trop to raise money for the American Cancer Society and participate in this 24-hour walk. Team Trop's theme was Glow Stick It To Cancer and sold glow bracelets, necklaces, and glasses to raise money throughout the event. Taking part in the Luminaria Ceremony was the most emotional and memorable portion of Relay for each person in attendance, as they honored people in their lives that have lost their lives to cancer. 24 hours of no sleep is worth it when it is spent with hundreds of other people who share the same goal of ridding the world of cancer. All of Team Trop is catching up on their sleep now so there aren't any pictures posted yet, but check Facebook later this weekend to see the fun!

Moving Out: How to Get More of Your Security Deposit Back!

Mandatory Meeting Monday, June 3, 9:30 PM

Tropicana's last mandatory meeting of the year was rescheduled to Monday, June 3 at 9:30pm in the Cafe. The meeting will cover move-out procedures, and tips on how to get the most money back from your security deposit. Remember, your $50 cleaning fee includes basic vacuuming/mopping, dusting and sanitizing the bathroom; it does not include excessive grime in bathrooms or on floors, trash removal, removal of items left behind in the suite, cleaning inside dresser/desk drawers, stains on carpet, or other damage to the suite. But don't worry, you'll get a detailed handout on how to bring your suite back to its original condition. Please be sure to attend.

Summer Housing Available

Staying for Summer Sessions or Work?

Stay with Trop this summer. Our summer contract offers accommodations in a Triple occupancy room at one of our three communities, all utilities (including basic cable and internet) and program events with our Res Life team. Meals are available whenever the Cafe is open and can be purchased by selecting the unlimited meal plan, or by purchasing a 10-meal or 20-meal punch card or you can pay as you go.

Summer contract rates are $40.00 per night, with a 7-day minimum. If you stay 30 days or longer, you will receive a 10% discount. If you stay 60 days or longer, you will receive a 20% discount.
