Your Resident Assistants (RAs) are UCSB students who are trained for over eight weeks to assist you with many of your day-to-day needs and college survival skills. RAs wear a lot of hats. They are a “been-there, done-that” source of information about UCSB and the community. They are our community’s “cruise directors,” planning social, recreational and educational events. They work with residents to create a study-friendly atmosphere.
Juliette is a fourth year Biology major at UCSB. One day she wishes to become a pediatric oncologist and live in Haiti. This is her third year as working in Residence Life for Tropicana Student Housing. Some of her hobbies include playing guitar, and finding vintage or unique jewelry. Random Fact: Juliette wants to fill up the pages of her passport before it expires!
Francisco, from Cerritos, California, is a UCSB student majoring in Biology and Art. Some of his hobbies include playing soccer, basketball, ping pong, volleyball, drawing, painting, hiking, and swimming. A random fact about Francisco is that he skipped a grade in Elementary School to get a year ahead.
Melissa is a UCSB student majoring in Biopsychology from San Diego, California. Some of her hobbies include writing, hiking, camping, backpacking, and dancing. A random fact about her is that she was named after the Allman Brother’s song “Sweet Melissa.”
Taylor was born in Dallas, Texas, and is now a UCSB student majoring in Environmental Studies. Some of her hobbies include running, cooking, and thrift store shopping. A random fact about Taylor is that her stepfather was on a television show.
Alex is a UCSB student from Corona, California, majoring in Economics and Accounting. Some of his hobbies include off-roading, playing the guitar, and swimming in the ocean. A random fact about Alex is that he once wore an eye patch in high school.
Evelin is a UCSB student majoring in Communications from Rohnert Park, California. Her main hobby is taking pictures of anything she can. A random fact about Evelin is that she is obsessed with Disneyland and loves surprises.
Anjali, from San Jose, California, is a UCSB student majoring in English and Anthropology. Some of her hobbies include reading, writing poetry, singing, playing soccer and badminton, and eating. A random fact about Anjali is that when she graduates, she plans to join the Peace Corps.
